He Melted Him Like Frosty

Penguins AT Flyers
3 2

If it wasn't for one Marc-Andre Fleury this one could have been over very early on, as the net minder sprawled out and did somersaults to make some incredible saves and rob the Flyers of any chance of taking the lead and keeping the Penguins in the game. The Pens were able to tie the game up on a power play goal from Sidney Crosby in the second, and they kept the pressure almost ending the game in regulation on a Sergei Gonchar shot from the point with 5 minutes left in the third.

In overtime we saw the most uneventful 3-on-3 hockey in the world as each team danced around in circles to kill the penalty time. After the teams came back on full 4-on-4 strength action picked up but the Pens still failed to register a shot on net in the overtime frame. Going to the shootout, the Pens sent Letang, Crosby, and Malkin as their first three. Tanger made Boucher weak in the knees and buried one to give the Pens the 1-0 shootout lead, after the Flyers missed the next attempt Crosby came down center ice almost whiffing on shot sending the puck over Boucher's shoulder into the back of the net.
