Fleury and Price fight it out for All Star Starting job

‚ ‚ ‚ ‚ ‚
Pittsburgh Penguins netminder Marc Andre-Fleury and Montreal Canadiens netminder Carey Price will fight it out for the final days of the all star vote for the starting role in the All star game. Having already received more votes than any goaltenders in the history of NHL All-Star Fan Balloting, neither Pittsburgh's nor Montreal's goaltenders have secured the job, the starting nod for the Eastern Conference in the 57th NHL All-Star Game. Fleury as of today holds a 39,363-vote lead over Price in an election in which both players have received a total of more than 2.2 million votes.
The voting had begun with the Canadiens dominating the majority of the posistions until a league review found that illegal means were being used to vote. Since then the Penguins fans have stepped up and now Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin have climbed up the rankings and Crosby has also eclisped Jagr's record and once again looks favourite for the starting role. On the defensive front the Canadiens hold the key to both starting spots with Andrei Markov and Mike Komisarek leading the votes. Although Ryan Whitney and Sergei Gonchar have had many votes however neither of them qualify as they haven't played enough games.
To see the results as they are now http://fanballoting.nhl.com/results. Votes can still be registered right up until the 2nd Jan and details have been pasted below.
The following taken from www.nhl.com. Fans can vote for up to six Eastern Conference players and six Western Conference players -- three forwards, two defensemen and one goaltender. Fans are permitted to select as few as one player -- a balloted player or write-in -- per online ballot at Vote.NHL.com or via text message.
To vote using any wireless carrier, fans should text their favorite player's last name to the shortcode 81812. Fans interested in voting for all of their favorite team's balloted players can text the team nickname (e.g., Bruins) to 81812. Standard text messaging charges will apply.
