Fleury Shuts Down the Island

The Penguins only tickled the twine only once last night in what was not a terribly exciting game, but one was enough to win the game. In a game where the line combinations were not set until after the first couple shifts of the game, the Penguins dominated the bottom dwelling Islanders for the better part of 60 minutes. If I were to write a recap on this game it would consist of Pens get puck, pass the puck around, lose the puck, repeat for almost 45 minutes of the 60 minute game before Geno ran a block for Gonch who set up Sykora in front of a yawning wide open cage for the game winner with a little over 3 minutes left. The Isles were only able to gain the zone a couple times during the game getting off I think it was 21 shots on goal. The Penguins penalty kill was unreal last night, not allowing 1 shot on the first 2 Islander powerplays. Peep the highlights for yourself.

What I am going to bring up is these jobbers I came across while scouring the Facebook last night before the game. These are probably the same people that were calling for the Steelers to start Leftwich of Ben in the Super Bowl.

Facebook Jobbers on Marc-Andre Fleury

I bet these jokes are eating their words now after the shutout performance by Flower last night. I'm not going to sit here and defend Fleury because he as has the rest of the team has been having a bad year, but as a response to some of the comments, I would say the Pens made a good choice in taking Fleury first overall look where he took your team last spring idiots the Pens were 2 wins away from winning the Stanley Cup. The only reason teams are reluctant to take a goalie first overall is because it is very risky to do so, and why would you want to bring back Ryan Malone back his best years are behind him trust me on this. Yeah he may have given the Pens that body in front of the net that they are lacking right now but he isn't worth the asking price. Last but not least the idea of the Penguins drafting a goalie in the first round id just retarded, when they already have a Franchise goalie in Fleury and top prospects in the system like John Curry, and not to mention the more than capable backup Mathieu Garon who was a pretty good goalie before being injured last year. So why don't you just take a minute and think things over in your little head before they speak.
