On a night when goals may have thought to be at a premium, they weren't as there as an offensive explosion in the first period which the Penguins continued into the final 2 periods as the Hurricanes fizzled out only scoring one goal in the final 2 frames. The Pens did not take the foot off the gas the entire game as the netted 2 goals in the first, 2 in the second, and 3 in the third the last coming on a empty net, in which I became so excited beacuse the Penguins sealed this victory in a series in which every goal counts that I put my hand though a ceiling fan. Sorry about that one Dale I'll replace that arm for you.

Even though other players such as Chris Kunitz and Marc-Andre Fleury whom shut down the kitchen after the first period this night in particular belong to one Evgeni Malkin as he tallied his first playoff hat trick. The first 2 Geno goals came on a line change as Malkin stormed towards the net to put the rebound or pass in behind Cam Ward and the third was a highlight reel goal that was so incredible it will most likely follow him for his entire career.

The series now shifts to Carolina where the big question is where will Billy Cowher's allegiance lie. Will he continue to be the game 3 horn guy or will he listen to his wife and kids and take a seat. Game 3 takes place in Raleigh on Saturday night at 7:30pm.
